ConQuest

ConQuest 2023 is a 5-day self-catering tenting-con from August (02.08-06.08.2023)

and takes place around Brokeloh near Hannover.

Since 2004, the ConQuest has been held annually in August on the fantastic playground Brokeloh, near Hanover. In 2023 we are looking forward to a new experience, numerous adventures, interesting plots, great character driven gameplay, a city that never sleeps or stops celebrating and magical ambience.

The ConQuest is a grand LARP event where about 6000 players, 1900 non-player characters and some fantastical creatures meet every year in August to breathe life into the magical world of Mythodea. More than 1000 storylines, puzzles and adventures have to be solved with brains, brawn and skill to steer the fate of Mythodea in one direction or another.

Anyone who has ever imagined what it would be like to go into battle as a knight, to live as a powerful mage or to be sung of as a noble lady by brave warriors is in the right place in live role-playing, because here you can do exactly this and so much more! Every year, our team transforms a knight’s estate in the middle of Germany into a fantasy world for you to immerse yourself in for a weekend with the help of elaborately constructed backdrops, carefully planned sceneries, effects and numerous ambitious extras. Meet fascinating characters, celebrate in the medieval taverns or pit yourself in swordfighting and leave all the worries of everyday life behind you for five days!

Campaign Setting

Dark clouds followed a great victory.

The risen undead King Garvan makes the blow against the Lairdoms seem stale.

What is there to prepare for now?
The land has experienced great scars to bring Terra Ankor back into the fold.
Much of its lands need to be repaired or rebuilt. Still weakened after the cataclysm, there is a lack of solutions for the big picture.

Magic is in flux and the wounds everywhere are deep.
Enemies old and new are forming and casting their shadows ahead.

But there is also hope! New paths seem to be opening up and in the face of fierce battles, new friendships and alliances are emerging!

These must now be strengthened and consolidated, all knowledge, strategies and art must be thrown together to create a bright future.

For this is the only way to face everything that may come! Always one step ahead of the others!

It will succeed! It must succeed!

Camp selection, aka ``Viertelmanager``

In the spring of 2023 you can register your tickets for a camp of your choice:

1) Log in to your account at https://skald.com/.

2) Now you can select the tickets individually under “Tickets” (dropdown menu top right), select one of the camps with “Pick Location” and confirm “Select”.

If you don’t have an account yet, create a new account at https://skald.com/ with the e-mail address you used to buy the tickets.

If you have any questions, just send an email to info@skald.com.

Dog- and early arrival tickets can not be assigned.

You can also assign the tickets to your character in the ticket overview, but you have to create your character first in the “Characters” menu (drop-down menu at the top right).

There is no reason for this at the moment, but who knows what will be added in the future.

If you’re still looking for a group, you can post in the ConQuest International Facebook group and ask for help (https://www.facebook.com/groups/156682128364988/)

Loss of Ticket

If you have lost your ticket, you can simply log into the skald.com and print it out again.

Loss of Wristband

If you have lost your wristband, you can report to the HQ tent, where you will get a new one.

Please bring your identity card and your torn off wristband with you.

Paramedics

The Johanniter paramedics team will be directly on site 24 hours a day.

Don’t be afraid to visit them even for minor health problems like wasp stings, because that’s what they are there for. In case of an emergency, please inform an SL, who will immediately make sure that Johanniter – possibly with an ambulance – can reach you. For this reason, there are rescue routes that must be kept clear to ensure that the ambulance can get through everywhere. Please be aware that every trip back from the hospital or in case of minor injuries from the event area to the hospital has to be organised by yourself. We can only recommend a taxi company that is available at a reasonable price for such a trip.

Waste Disposal

Like last year, we will set up (very large) marked garbage containers at the edge of the site, where you can easily get rid of your garbage.

Please put your garbage into the containers and do not put it in front of them.

Theft

Do not leave valuables unattended, because opportunity makes thieves.
OT theft on LARP is rare, but it is still best to lock away your valuables, e.g. in the car.

Outside delivery at the ConQuest

Deliveries by external service providers are not permitted at ConQuest or any other Live Adventure event.
External service providers who do not have a contractual agreement with the organiser are also not permitted to enter or drive onto the event site.
As the organiser, we reserve the right to enforce this regulation accordingly and to expel the persons concerned from the premises.
Exceptions to this regulation must be clarified with the organiser and approved by him in writing.

Early Arrival

Early Arrival

As an alternative to regular arrival, you can use the early arrival to get to the site up to three days before the start of the game.

From Sunday to Wednesday there is no game yet, but since many merchants and taverns are already open, you won’t be bored if you come early.

Early arrival is possible from Sunday, 30.07.2023, 12:00 to 21:00.

On all other days from 10:00 am.

You can find the early arrival tickets here: https://skald.com

Accomodation

Accommodation is in tents that you yourself bring with you and which are suitable for the ambience of the event. If you don’t have a medieval looking tent, you can camouflage a “normal tent” with linen sheets or nets, so that it no longer looks like a modern day plastic tent. Get advice from experienced players in our forum. Unfortunately we cannot offer central sleeping places, but the last years have shown that many players organize themselves into community tents through our forum. If you don’t know where you can sleep, just have a look there.

Please note in your camp planning that we calculate a maximum of 15m² per participant. This is the total area per quarter, this does not give entitlement for each individual.

The allocation of the tent site is based on the registration for a camp, a quarter or a group. Registration will be possible from spring 2023. Those who have not registered for a specific quarter by then will automatically be allocated to a quarter.

Catering

The ConQuest is a self-catering con. In addition, many food stalls in the Tross area offer you a variety of goodies. As an additional service you will find a supermarket directly on the grounds.

Self Catering

All players and NPCs are self-catering. Fires may be lit at designated fireplaces or in fire bowls you brought yourself, (NOT on the ground) at a sufficient distance from the forest or bushes.

Supermarket

Our supermarket on the premises has everything you need. From basic foods such as noodles and rice, meat and sausage products or dairy products to fresh fruit and vegetables or fresh bread rolls, everything is offered here at moderate prices. You can also buy hygiene products and there is also ice cream! It is also possible to order almost everything.

Stalls in the Tross

In addition, there is again the possibility to get a variety of medieval and exotic food at one of the numerous stands in our baggage train. Beyond that, however, the retinue offers even more: Numerous dealers for everything the knight or bard’s heart desires – from armour to drinking cups and all kinds of everyday stuff. In between there are large and small taverns where everything is served that strengthens body and soul after a leisurely stroll or into the early hours of the morning.

Taverns

In the many different taverns on the grounds you can relax with alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, hold important meetings or weddings and simply celebrate a little with the right musical accompaniment.

Minors

In general there is no age limit at ConQuest. Minors and their guardians are kindly requested to observe the following rules.

Minors in Battles

Parents or guardians of underage participants must always be within reach during battles or combat situations, as well as in urban and catering areas. Children under the age of 14 are generally not allowed to participate in battles.

The following Rules apply within the Taverns:

Children under 14 years are allowed to stay out till 22:00, teenagers under 16 years until 23:00 and teenagers under 18 years until 24:00.

We reserve the right to expel the parent or guardian and his/her child(ren) from the event if this rule is violated.

Participation Rules for Minors

Participants from 0 to 6 years of age do not need to register and do not have to pay anything.

Participants from 7 to 13 years pay half of the current player ticket price and must book a junior player ticket.

All underage participants need an adult and legitimate supervisor to attend the event and supervise them.

For this we have set up a dog ticket in the ticket sales at https://skald.com/

The dog must be checked in with the e-ticket at the check-in.

WARNING

At ConQuest there is an absolute muzzle and leash obligation. In case of non-compliance, the dog owner with the dog will be expelled from the event.

Poisonous Animals

Snakes, spiders or other poisonous animals are prohibited at ConQuest.
